I Still Believe in the System

After 30 years of working for the federal courts, I believe in legal process and in the justice system. The president can fire as many appointed officials as he wants, but I believe that career prosecutors and law enforcement professionals will continue the investigations and get the facts out, and that judges will make decisions based on the evidence. I've known and worked with FBI and federal prosecutors before. Their work is their mission. They believe in the justice system. So do I. The president can fight and attack them and put roadblocks in their way, but no one is above the law. It may take time and it's going to get uglier, but I believe the system will work.
